Policy Study: Fair Competition Culture in Albania, January 2012

EMA has the pleasure to share with you the study on “Is Albania Ready for a Fair Competition? Strengthening Enforcement and Developing Advocacy Mechanisms”, supported by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and European Fund for the Balkans.

By identifying the key factors hindering the development of a fair competition among market players, the paper provides a comprehensive overview of recent developments on competition policy in Albania. A special attention in the policy paper is paid to the role of key competition institutions in the framework of protection of fair competition by shedding light on instruments available to institutions to enhance competition culture over public entities, the business community and citizens at large. This paper is based on several aspects emerging from a larger study being undertaken in the framework of the Balkan Fund for Democracy funded project “Towards enhancement of a fair competition and a functional market economy in Albania”.
