Invited to Top Channel Albania, Gledis Gjipali, Executive Director, European Movement in Albania (EMA), and Nirvana Deliu, Expert on the European integration process at EMA, commented on Albania’s progress on its journey towards the European Union. Albania opened another Group Chapter, the fourth, which focuses on the green agenda and sustainable connectivity and includes key areas such as green transition, environmental protection, energy and transport. Albania’s objective continues to remain the opening of the last group chapter (Group Chapter 5) within the year, however, it is important that the milestones set by the EU are met in a qualitative manner.

Furthermore, they emphasized that Chapter 27 is considered one of the most challenging chapters, given that its legislation is horizontal and affects other chapters. It must be said that Albania is a unique case in terms of opening negotiations due to the accelerated pace. And for this reason, the pace of work must be maintained, despite the fact that the process has been intensified. In conclusion, it was clarified that the challenge remains the internal coordination of institutions, as well as their mutual support.
