MCN – Opening of chapters an achievement, but half the work remains; Deliu: Weak points in environment and food safety, 17 November 2025
Invited to the news edition on MCN TV, Nirvana Deliu, an expert on the European integration process at the European Movement in Albania (EMA), extensively commented on developments related to Albania’s EU integration process. Deliu described the opening of all clusters within just 13 months as an achievement for Albania, but emphasized that it is only half the work. She further discussed the agreements signed between Albania and Italy in Rome, which aim to increase investments in monitored sectors and enhance cooperation between the two countries. Equally important are the proper absorption and utilisation of funds, as well as the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkan states, from which Albania received its first installment this year. In conclusion, Deliu stated that the strongest point in the Albania-EU negotiation process is Chapter 30 – External Relations, while the weakest points, where more work is needed, are the chapters on Agriculture and Rural Development, Food Safety, and the Environment.
