A2CNN: “Bulgaria proposes the opening of negotiations with Tirana, not Skopje”

On December 2, 2021, the Executive Director of EMA, Gledis Gjipali was invited to “Debate” on A2CNN to talk about Bulgaria’s veto that prevents North Macedonia from joining the EU. He stated that the international community has hesitated to mediate and make it possible for Bulgaria to withdraw from its position. Gjipali pointed out that if Bulgaria does not provide a positive feedback then the chance of separation of Albania and North Macedonia in the EU integration process prevails. In this context, he added that the Commission can find technical solutions to political problems, hence launch alternative processes similar to that of negotiations.
