Citizens Fair “Act Now”

On 21.06.2012, the U. S. Embassy in Albania organised the Citizens Fair “Act Now”, where, among others, EMA was participating, as well.

The citizen’s fair aim was to strengthen democratic principles by engaging Albanian citizens in projects on four key issues: Healthcare, Education, Environment, and Governance.

Throughout the activity, EMA’s staff provided information on the EU Integration Process and democratic mechanisms that are necessary in this process. This information was delivered to the visitors throughout constructive conversations and EMA’s publications – consisting of voting guides for young voters, brochures on the set-up of Albanian institutions, information on EU structures and processes, informative bulletins etc.

Additionally, questionnaires on ‘knowledge on local government’ were handed out to students —as a means to measure awareness over local government activities.

Among many civil society organizations, as well as students, that were interested in acquiring information on EMA’s work and activities, U.S. Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Alexander Arvizu, visited EMA’s tend and inquired more information on its role and aim.
