Klan News: EU provides “a bag” of billions for the Balkans/Gjipali: This is what Albania receives (Beleri and Greece), 11 March 2024

The Executive Director of the European Movement in Albania, Gledis Gjipali, was invited to Klan News, where he discussed the integration process of the Western Balkans and the support from the EU. The expert outlined that there are several key pillars of the Growth Plan, emphasizing the establishment and enhancement of a new regional market and the gradual integration into the European market. These two elements, along with broader socio-economic development initiatives, aim to bridge the developmental gap between the Western Balkans and the EU. Highlighting the plan’s flexibility over a three-year period, Gjipali underscored that it will provide additional funds with direct conditions. Furthermore, Gjipali mentioned that Albania will gain many advantages from the grant package, including hosting summits in Tirana, which demonstrates Albania’s importance. He emphasized the significance of the letter from the EU countries’ ministers endorsing enlargement, viewing it as a vital step toward expediting the approval of the new plan.
