Module X and the last one, “Public Health in the EU and Albania (Chapters: 7, 10, 28)” of the School for Consumer Protection and European Integration was held on 2023 January 20-21
The first session was led by Ms. Eglantina Bardhi, Executive Director at “Together for Life Organization.” She informed the participants about the legal steps and procedures followed in cases where patients’ rights are violated and shared some successful cases in which these rights have been applied.
The second session was conducted by Ms. Elona Gjebrea, Lecturer at “New York Tirana” University, who shared data from a study that has been conducted over a period of 9 months, including several Balkan states, on the approach of young people to information, education, and health care in Albania during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The third and final session was held by Mr. Dritan Ulqinaku, Deputy Director at the Institute of Public Health (ISHP). He began the session by explaining to the participants about the mission of the institute in protecting the population. During the discussions, particular attention was paid to the measures that need to be taken to effectively protect the Albanian consumer from risks and threats in the field of health, as well as the strategies that need to be followed in the future to prevent similar emergencies like COVID-19.
