Nirvana Deliu/EMA- The opening of negotiations for Albania

Nirvana Deliu, gave her remarks on the opening of negotiations for Albania and North Macedonia. She stated that the holding of the First Intergovernmental Conference is the moment of the official opening of the negotiations and now begins the work to harmonize our legislation with the legislation of the EU. There are a total of 35 chapters  and according to Deliu, the most challenging ones are chapter 23 and 24. The whole process is based on four criteria, which are: political and economic criteria, harmonization of our legislation with EU legislation and the capacity for implementation of this legislation. Also, Deliu added that the monitoring will be carried out by the European Commission, which will later on send these reports to the European Council. According to her, the duration of this process is relative and now begins the real work.
