Brain Gain Policies and their impact on the European Integration Process of Albania
European Movement in Albania (EMA) supported by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and Open Society Institute (OSI), Think Tank Fund, has produced a policy paper entitled "Brain Gain Policies and their impact on the European Integration Process of Albania". This policy paper was presented during the series of Policy Forums on European Integration organized on 4 June 2010.
Nations in Transit - Freedom House report on Albania
Gledis Gjipali, the Executive Director of European Movement in Albania, is the author of the country report for 2010 'Nations in Transit' published annually by Freedom House. The report analyzes the progress' level of Albania in terms of democratization in important areas such as: National Democratic Governance; Electoral Process; Civil Society; Independent Media; Local Democratic Governance; Judicial Framework and Independence; and Corruption.
Accessing Integration: Problems and Solutions to Adapting IPA in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia
European Movement in Albania (EMA) supported by Local Government and Public Service Reform Initiative of the Open Society Institute - Budapest, has produce a polcy paper entitled "Accessing Integration: Problems and Solutions to Adapting IPA in Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and Macedonia".
European Movement in Albania (EMA) is an independent organization, organized in the form of an NGO combining think tank and advocacy instruments. European Movement in Albania was established in February 2007 and became member of European Movement International.
On the occasion of the 60th Anniversary of the Schuman declaration, European Movement in Albania (EMA), in cooperation with the universities of "Zonja e Keshillit te Mire"(Tirane), "Aleksander Moisiu" (Durres) and the EU Info Points located within these universities, on 12 May 2010, organized a national conference. The aim of this conference was to inform and raise awareness of the students on EU issues by promoting EU values and principles as well as on the future of Albania in the European Union. This conference finalized the series of activities that EMA has undertaken on these targeted universities in the framework of a join initiatives took on by the European Movement International with the support of the European Commission, Education and Culture DG, on the occasion of the Europe Day. Participant in this activity were representatives of the academic and civil society, media and the students.
On 2 April 2010, European Movement in Albania (EMA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania, in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and Balkan Trust for Democracy (BTD) organized the conference: "Visa Liberalization: What it actually means?"
On 19 March 2010, Mr. Gledis Gjipali, Executive Director and Ms. Baisa Sefa, Junior Researcher at EMA took part in the first meeting of the project "Unity through Mobility" held in Brussels, which aimed to set up a mentoring system between EMI National Councils. This mentoring project was initiated by the European Movement International and it involves 12 EMI National Councils operating in Albania, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy and Slovenia. In framework of this initiative inside this network, more developed councils will play the role of "mentor" offering their support and experience to increase the capacity for the "less developed" councils.
