TRT World – Gjipali: Ukraine proposes to make Joint Weapons Production Centres in the Balkans, 6 March 2024

Expert in European Integration Gledis Gjipali was invited to TRT World to discuss the situation in Ukraine and the concern Balkan countries have about it spreading to other parts of the region. According to Gjipali, there is cause for concern about a possible change in US policy, which is linked to the current state of affairs. The Tirana Summit was intended to provide Ukraine with military and economic support for the upcoming months and years, in addition to the political support it had previously received from the Western Balkan countries. Gjipali added that there is no chance of a speedy peace and that the conflict will most likely continue. Furthermore, he stated that the United States of America is currently debating the results of the elections, so forging a larger alliance with nations that can provide assistance in any manner will increase the likelihood that Ukraine will continue its path in the face of Russian aggression.
