A2CNN: The integration process, EU still not ready to set a date for Albania

On March 16, 2022, the Executive Director of EMA, Mr. Gledis Gjipali was on A2CNN to give his remarks on Albania’s EU integration process. Gjipali mentioned the meeting he had with Borrell, EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. The war in Ukraine and the removal of the veto for Albania were among the addressed topics in this meeting. Moreover, he added that EU lacks the unified will to reach an agreement and that many important moments in which progress could have been achieved have been missed. Gjipali stated that we have not met the conditions for EU membership, but we have met the conditions for the beginning of the negotiations, emphasizing how important it is not to get stuck in this step.
