Fax News: Kosovo’s application to the Council of Europe
On May 13th, 2022, the Executive Director of EMA/Mr. Gledis Gjipali was on Fax News to discuss Kosovo’s application to the Council of Europe. He considered it a positive development regarding the protection of human rights and added that membership in this Council is not limited by state recognition. Moreover, Gjipali stated that the negative feedback from Serbia is linked to its domestic political situation. When it comes to Albania’s integration in EU, Gjipali said that the possibility to get separated from North Macedonia exists. He emphasized the fact that Albania has fulfilled all the requirements for this stage and after the launching of the First Intergovernmental Conference new requests will come along.
