Gjipali: The EU-Western Balkans Summit in Slovenia provides economic support for the region
Gledis Gjipali, EMA’s Executive Director was on A2 CNN and VizionPlus to talk about the process of integration and more particularly about the developments of EU-Western Balkans Summit held in Slovenia. He stated that the European Commission has assessed that Albania is ready for the First Intergovernmental Conference but the conflict between Bulgaria and North Macedonia continues to punish Albania. Moreover, Gjipali pointed out that the Berlin Process and the Open Balkan initiative cannot be considered alternatives to the enlargement process. Regarding the Economic and Investment Plan, he said that this 30 billion euro package is for the entire region and extends over a seven-year period as part of the post-Covid-19 recovery package.
