Gledis Gjipali/EMA gives his remarks regarding “Golden Passports “

on August 30 2022, the Executive Director of EMA,Gledis Gjipali was invited to the afternoon edition of SyriTV to give his remarks regarding the “Golden Passports” project and the potential issues that this government initiative may give rise to for Albania’s EU accession. During the interview, Gjipali discussed the position of the EC against the “golden passports” policy, which considers granting citizenship based on investment schemes dangerous for the security of the European Union. Asked about the repercussions that this initiative could bring if the government proceeds with this proposed action, Gjipali stated that the EU has made clear recommendations in this regard. Albania is advised to be careful in the application of such schemes, as the EU will be stricter and monitor closer during this chapter.
