Ora News – “Alert” by Granit Sokolaj, European Commission’s Report on Albania vs. Consumers, 28 November 2025
Gledis Gjipali, Executive Director of the European Movement in Albania (EMA), during an interview on Ora News’s program “Alert” by journalist Granit Sokolaj, commented on the adoption of several recent laws by Parliament and their impact on the EU negotiation process. Gjipali first addressed public consultation, noting that it has not been properly conducted by the executive, while Parliament has created an online consultation platform, which he described as a positive step forward. He emphasized that this platform must be used effectively, as laws will need to be passed very quickly within a short timeframe. In conclusion, Gjipali stated that during the EU accession process, there will be groups that may lose out or be affected in the short term, and Albanian institutions must be prepared to inform these groups so that losses are minimised, or even to explore opportunities to act in other sectors. Businesses, therefore, need to be restructured and adapt their ways of operating, while interest groups should take advantage of the opportunities that will be offered to them.
