Fax News: Rama’s visit to Berlin and Albania’s EU integration process

On April 12, 2022, EMA’s Executive Director Mr. Gledis Gjjipali was on Fax News to comment on Prime Minister Rama’s visit to Berlin. He stated that this visit exhibits the attention that Germany and the new Chancellor Scholz are paying to Albania and at the same time reaffirms the relevance of the Berlin Process. Gjipali indicated that our country has missed some key historical moments which have prolonged the integration process. Moreover, he pointed out the need for a greater political and economic commitment of EU in the Balkans. Considering Albania’s current situation, a side effect of the Bulgarian veto on North Macedonia, Gjipali added that if there is no positive feedback, Albania will be justified to continue the negotiation process separately. When it comes to Ukraine’s request to join EU, Gjipali regards it as a political message.
